Weekly roundup – 11 September

12/09/2022 by Tom Payne

Club update

There have been a few more race events over the weekend, and plenty of Harriers out on long runs, training runs, C25k runs, or just out and about enjoying the trails and hills. Well done to every who got out for a run of any distance, speed or duration.

Saturday
On Saturday Wayne was at it again, this time doing a Backyard Ultra. For anyone who doesnt know what that is, you must complete a lap of 4.17 miles every hour. If you are not back at the start line on the hour you are out, DNF. Wayne completed 7 loops, for a total of 29.17 miles.

Sunday
On Sunday, Tracy took part in the Great North Run. After a long training build up the day finally arrived – and after all that effort she managed to pull off a PB. Well done Tracy.

And down in Cornwall, Iain did the Bude Pirate Run – an 8+ mile trail run along the coast, and came 15th overall and 6th in age group.

Club runs
Here is the plan for the rest of September:
13th and 15th Sept – Steart Marshes. Also several of us will be at Weston for the first Prom Run of the season.
20th and 22nd – 1610 Chilton Trinity (optionl ‘twilight trail’)
27th and 29th – YMCA (optional ‘twilight trail’)
Trail shoes and headtorches will be required for the trial runs.
